afraid of culture shock class2 crystal

To be honest to say I am afraid of the culture shock in the British. The reason is that it is total different culture background between them and me. In comparison with the British people, I can imagine how weird I will be in there. It is a really challenge for me. Everybody who understands me will know I never give up anything if I have not try it. But when I think I will be in a strange place alone I also feel afraid. It is not only a gap between me and others, but also a place I can’t express my feeling optional.

Hi Crystal,

The best way to deal with culture shock is to have a positive attitude. Don't give up easily if you have some problems at the beginning and be prepared to laugh about some of the strange experiences. Perhaps share these experiences with your other Chinese friends so you don't feel to lonely. Eventually you will adjust to the new culture and learn a lot from it, especially if you keep yourself busy. Here is some more information for you to read about culture shock and how to cope with it: http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/student/info_sheets/culture_shock.php.
